Ar Men Crenn

Men Crenn : Pierre du milieu, est le nom d'un rocher emergeant du milieu du port jusqu'au début de la seconde partie du XXème sciècle.
Ce bar est situé en face de l'endroit où s'érigeait Ar Men Crenn.

Men Crenn: Center Stone, is the name of a rock emerging from the middle of the port until the beginning of the second part of the XXème sciècle. This bar is located in front of the place where Ar Men Crenn was set up.

C'est le nom du bateau à l'avant-plan mais c'est aussi le nom breton, et donc d'origine, du Guilvinec.
Gelven = souche, Eg = accentuatif. L'interprétation la plus courante est étendue de souches (d'arbres) mais une autre interprétation est "Village Pierreux".

Abri du marin (C'est ma 50ème Daily Photo !!!)

Les abris du marin ont été fondés au tout début du 20 ème sciècle pour fournir une autre occupation que les cafés aux marins. On pouvait y jouer aux cartes ou à d'autres jeux et il s'agissait plus largement d'un lieu de rassemblement et de discussion.
Ces abris du marin, que l'on retrouve dans la plupart des ports bretons, ont atteint leur objectif et sont devenus des symboles sociaux portuaires. Ils abritent actuellement des expositions, des bibliothèques et autres médiathèques ...

Solution de l'énigme du 18 juin

Le cylindre de la bouée rouge au premier plan (photo du 18 juin) permet, alignée avec le cylindre rouge du phare de Léchiagat dans le fond (photo du 21 juin), de donner l'alignement optimal au bateaux pour rentrer dans le port de jour comme de nuit.
On aperçoit entre les deux l'ancien phare de Léchiagat (photo du 25 juin) qui, je viens de l'apprendre, doit finalement être repeint !!! A quand les première photos ?

Bravo à Nathalie (http://sydneydailysnap.blogspot.com) qui a trouvé la solution le 25 juin (cf. photo du 21 juin) ! ... il est vrai avec un indice supplémentaire ;-)

The cylinder of the red buoy in the foreground (photo of June 18) allows, aligned with the red cylinder of the headlight of Léchiagat in the bakcground (photo of June 21), to give the lignement optimal one to the boats to return in the port on day and on night. One sees between the two the old headlight of Léchiagat (photo of June 25) which, I have just learned it, must be finaly repaints!!! When the first photographs?

Le phare d'Eckmühl, un des plus puissants de France, est situé à Saint-Pierre en Kérity à 6 km à l'ouest du Guilvinec : 65 m, 307 marches, feux blancs à éclat toutes les 5 secondes.

Le phare de Léchiagat (dans le port face au Guilvinec) est le jumeau de celui du Guilvinec mais en noir ... ou du moins à l'origine. Peintres du Guilvinec / Léchiagat à vos pinceaux pour la sauvegarde de ce monument en péril ...
