Cimetière (avec 9 jours de retard ...)

Le cimetière des bateaux, dans l'arrière-port, est un lieu où règne une ambiance faite de souvenirs et de respect uniquement troublée par la présence de vers de vase excellents pour la pêche.
Ces cimetières disparaissent hélas car les anciens bateaux sont désormais, soit donnés au communes qui les exposent sur des rond-points (drôle de fin pour un navire ...) ou pire détruits à l'aide d'un buldozer !!!

The cemetery of the boats, in the inner harbour, is a place where reign a made environment of memories and respect only disturbed by the presence of worms of vase very good for fishing.

These cemeteries disappear alas because the old boats are from now, given to the communes which expose them on roundabouts (funny of end for a ship…) or worse destroyed using a buldozer!!!

Accessoirement, la baignade y est interdite (sauf zone TRES surveillée) à cause des lames de fond ayant causé la mort de plusieurs baigneurs ...

Neizahn et Neizhan

Neizahn est le nom de ce bateau depuis 2005.
Que signigie Neizahn en breton ?
Je pense qu'il s'agit du mot breton Neizhan, mal orthographié, qui lui signifie Neptune, comme chacun le sait désigne le dieu de La Mer et a donné son nom à la planète.

Son ancien nom était "Taz"

Ce post est dédié à Bergson qui réclamait à corps et à cri une nouvelle photo de bateau ;-)


Neizahn is the name of this boat since 2005.
What does Neizahn means in Breton ?
I think that it is about the Breton word Neizhan, mis-spellt, which means Neptune, as each one know it designate the god of the Sea and gave his name to the planet.

Its old name was “Taz”

La flèche et le phare

La construction de l'église du Guilvinec a débuté en 1887 et elle a conservé un clocher inachevé jusqu'à il y a une dizaine d'années.
En effet, le "toit" en ardoise récent que l'on aperçoit sur la photo est venu remplacer la flèche initialement prévue, pour deux raisons (selon les versions ...) :
- Le clocher prévu aurait coupé le faisceau du phare d'Eckmüll, visible pour les bateaux situés au sud-est du Guilvinec, modifiant ainsi sa signature (1 éclat blanc toutes les 5 secondes)
- Les fonds récoltés parmis la population assez pauvre de l'époque étaient insuffisants ...


The arrow and the lighthouse

The construction of the church of Guilvinec began in 1887 and it preserved an unfinished bell-tower until some ten years ago.
Indeed, “the recent slate roof” that one sees on the photograph came to replace the arrow initially envisaged, for two reasons (according to the versions…) :
- The bell-tower envisaged would have cut the beam of the headlight of Eckmüll, visible for the boats located at the south-east of Guilvinec, thus modifying its signature (1 white glare every 5 seconds)
- The collected funds parmis the rather poor population of the time were insufficient…

mer. Il est situé sur le belvédère au dessus de la criée.
